Why is this important?


School culture and climate are important because a positive environment improves student academic performance, well-being, and motivation by fostering safety, belonging, and strong relationships
Action steps related to the priorityBy 2027, ISD will improve school climate by providing voice to community stakeholders.
-Create a culture of listening and responding to stakeholder input
-Provide platforms for students to have voice in the district
-Implement a process for continous improvement and promoting student success
Evidence of Implementation-Student leadership groups at all buildings
-Implementation of Character Counts program in the district and community
-SEL survey using SAEBRS 3x a year
-Participation in S-CAP
-Shared leadership: Student council, BAC, DAC, Multicultural Committee, District and Building MTSS teams, District Mentor Team
-Establishment of a Native American Parent Advisory Committee (NAPAC)
